About the role

  • National Service Technician maintaining and repairing Liebherr mining equipment in Fort McKay. Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine, and drivetrain systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, etc. to resolve moderate to complex problems
  • Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul, including component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment
  • Perform warranty upgrades
  • Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections and new and used equipment preparation
  • Service Liebherr machinery, including fluid checks, sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, and greasing machine lube points
  • Ensure components, material and/or equipment are inspected and corrected to specifications and timely delivery programs are achieved
  • Complete final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications
  • Submit accurate and timely service reports and technical documents
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
  • Support shop repairs/work as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, component exchange, repair and warranty-related activities
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Ability to effectively communicate detailed and complex information clearly and concisely
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and unsupervised for extended periods
  • Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 14 * 14 shift
  • High school diploma (or the equivalent)
  • Journeyman Heavy Duty certificate
