Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the team in executing complex data initiatives in collaboration with the Product team
- Promote best practices in system design, operational processes, and workflows
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Contribute to defining and validating the roadmap with the Product team and other stakeholders
- Track the team’s progress against deadlines
- Identify and resolve blockers that impede delivery
- Provide hands‑on support when necessary
- Manage incidents within the team’s scope
- Participate in meetings, reviews, and cross‑team design sessions
- Share best practices and contribute to large‑scale data initiatives
- Advocate for data quality with the team and partners
- Mentor and coach individual contributors
- Support professional development and contribute to performance evaluations
- Participate in recruitment activities
- Transform raw data into structured, accessible, and reliable datasets
- Help define analytics engineering strategy
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in analytics engineering or a closely related data engineering role
- Strong understanding of data warehousing
- Proficiency in data modeling techniques
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes
- Demonstrated experience with data transformations and data models using Dataform or dbt
- Preferred experience on GCP, including BigQuery, Dataform, Dataflow, and Vertex AI
- Excellent SQL skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala)
- Experience in an agile development environment
- Good knowledge of data governance and data quality
- Experience leading or mentoring junior team members or managing projects highly desirable
- English proficiency as a working language required
- Disclosure of any criminal convictions and completion of a background check required as part of the hiring process
