About the role
- Senior Principal Developer shaping MaintainX’s AI-native mobile platform for industrial and frontline operations. Defining architecture, tooling, release systems, and engineering standards across teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the multi-year technical strategy, governance, and architecture for the mobile platform
- Design and build critical foundations and tooling for the mobile app
- Make hands-on contributions to complex technical problems
- Lead consolidation and evolution of SDKs, CI pipelines, build tooling, release trains, observability, and agentic development golden paths
- Embed AI-native workflows into personal practice, the platform, and feature-team development and delivery
- Raise engineering excellence through architectural reviews, RFCs, and mentorship of senior engineers and tech leads
- Partner with Platform Engineering managers to set priorities, shape roadmaps, and align cross-team technical direction
- Define and use platform success metrics including adoption, build times, release velocity, and developer satisfaction
- Present technical priorities, trade-offs, and results to executive stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineering leaders across the company
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Significant mobile engineering experience
- Technical leadership at staff, principal, or equivalent level
- Experience bringing AI-assisted workflows into a platform or organization
- Deep expertise in React Native, including architecture, performance, and native iOS and Android integration
- Experience designing and driving adoption of shared modules, SDKs, and reusable components across teams
- Expertise in mobile CI/CD, build systems, release management, code signing and distribution, and mobile observability
- Experience influencing technical direction across teams and organizations without formal authority
- Product mindset toward internal platforms, including measuring adoption and making build-vs-buy decisions
- Excellent mentorship and communication skills
- Expert-level English, spoken and written
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
