About the role

  • Technical Systems Analyst troubleshooting and enhancing core business systems at Manion, a Canadian benefits administration firm. Bridging business requirements, Oracle SQL development, system implementations, and stakeholder decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Director of Information Systems
  • Analyze system data, business processes, and application behaviour to identify issues and recommend solutions
  • Develop and execute Oracle SQL queries and data modifications
  • Investigate and troubleshoot complex application issues and determine root causes
  • Review application code, database logic, interfaces, and system behaviour
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
  • Translate business needs into actionable system requirements
  • Work with external development teams to clarify requirements, review solutions, troubleshoot issues, and support system changes
  • Facilitate meetings and working sessions with business, technical, and project stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance on system functionality, capabilities, limitations, and solutions
  • Participate in strategic and cross-functional projects
  • Support Security and Privacy incident investigations
  • Manage assigned work, priorities, dependencies, risks, and status reporting across concurrent initiatives
  • Support ad hoc project work

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in an IT program or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of development experience
  • Oracle SQL Developer experience (required)
  • Experience working directly with software development teams and technical stakeholders (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of Business Analysis experience
  • Experience in Java, Angular, and/or API development is an asset
  • Experience in project coordination or management in an IT environment is an asset
  • Experience in a group benefits or insurance environment is an asset
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Ability to manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and deadlines
