About the role
- Developing/testing automation and providing cloud platform expertise at Manulife. Collaborating with engineering teams to enhance public cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Developing/testing automation and supporting public cloud platform technologies
- Collaborating within the Cloud Platform Services team
- Interacting with engineering team members, application architects/developers, cloud operations, security teams, product managers, and leadership
- Providing reliable and scalable cloud platform expertise to engineers
- Investigating new platform solutions to improve service delivery experience
- Resolving persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams
- Monitoring, analyzing and optimizing software architecture and maintaining software environment to support testing and deployment
Requirements
- Core Kubernetes knowledge
- Service Mesh experience
- Understanding of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code
- Innovative mind set, able to experiment to solve problems
- Technical expertise in public cloud (preferably Azure) infrastructure and platform technologies, especially Containers/Kubernetes required
- Expertise in provisioning and configuration automation tools
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and how technology can support business strategy
- Bachelor in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent experience
- Collaborative approach to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods
- Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
