About the role

  • Developing/testing automation and providing cloud platform expertise at Manulife. Collaborating with engineering teams to enhance public cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Developing/testing automation and supporting public cloud platform technologies
  • Collaborating within the Cloud Platform Services team
  • Interacting with engineering team members, application architects/developers, cloud operations, security teams, product managers, and leadership
  • Providing reliable and scalable cloud platform expertise to engineers
  • Investigating new platform solutions to improve service delivery experience
  • Resolving persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams
  • Monitoring, analyzing and optimizing software architecture and maintaining software environment to support testing and deployment

Requirements

  • Core Kubernetes knowledge
  • Service Mesh experience
  • Understanding of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code
  • Innovative mind set, able to experiment to solve problems
  • Technical expertise in public cloud (preferably Azure) infrastructure and platform technologies, especially Containers/Kubernetes required
  • Expertise in provisioning and configuration automation tools
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and how technology can support business strategy
  • Bachelor in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent experience
  • Collaborative approach to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods
  • Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
  • Experiments with new technologies
