About the role

Developing/testing automation and providing cloud platform expertise at Manulife. Collaborating with engineering teams to enhance public cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

Developing/testing automation and supporting public cloud platform technologies
Collaborating within the Cloud Platform Services team
Interacting with engineering team members, application architects/developers, cloud operations, security teams, product managers, and leadership
Providing reliable and scalable cloud platform expertise to engineers
Investigating new platform solutions to improve service delivery experience
Resolving persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams
Monitoring, analyzing and optimizing software architecture and maintaining software environment to support testing and deployment

Core Kubernetes knowledge
Service Mesh experience
Understanding of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code
Innovative mind set, able to experiment to solve problems
Technical expertise in public cloud (preferably Azure) infrastructure and platform technologies, especially Containers/Kubernetes required
Expertise in provisioning and configuration automation tools
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration
Understanding of software development lifecycle and how technology can support business strategy
Bachelor in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent experience
Collaborative approach to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods
Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
