Responsibilities
Perform instrument transformer and power transformer testing, including Doble testing, TTR, insulation resistance, and diagnostics.
Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical and solid-state protective relays, calibrate relays, and verify power metering accuracy.
Conduct switchgear, circuit breaker, and cable testing, including Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, and DC Hipot.
Diagnose and repair issues with automatic transfer switches (ATS) and support system start-up and commissioning.
Respond to customer emergencies as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
Document and report all test results, service work, and technical findings accurately.
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all electrical safety standards and procedures.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure efficient, high-quality field operations.
Provide technical guidance and expertise to customers when required.
Support continuous improvement of field testing processes and documentation.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of experience in switchgear testing, troubleshooting, or related electrical field services.
Associate’s degree in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) or Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
NETA Certification (Level I–IV) or equivalent is an asset.
Hands-on experience with low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems, including transformers, relays, and switchgear.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work safely, follow electrical safety procedures, and operate independently in field environments.
Travel required: 40% or more, including local/regional driving and occasional overnight trips.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
