About the role
- Data Analyst creating sophisticated datasets and interactive dashboards for Ness Digital Engineering’s technology clients. Applying SQL, Hadoop, DataStage, and data warehousing expertise across product teams.
Responsibilities
- Work with project teams, business stakeholders, technical SMEs, and Data Insights on a growing portfolio of interactive dashboards across product teams
- Create new datasets and sophisticated dashboards
- Understand data and business processes across applications and data domains
- Advocate best practices for development across teams
Requirements
- Expert in SQL, Hadoop, BigData, Hive, and Nifi
- Ability to analyse the construction of existing reports and reverse engineer table relationships
- Strong knowledge of the Retail Domain
- Experience with various stages of data warehouse projects, including data extraction, cleansing, aggregation, validation, transformation, and loading
- Experience using DataStage components such as Sequential File, Join, Sort, Merge, Lookup, Transformer, Remove Duplicates, Copy, Filter, Funnel, Dataset, Change Data Capture, and Aggregator
- Strong knowledge of database commands (DDL and DML) and data warehousing implementation models
- Hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, NiFi, and YARN
- Familiarity with Mainframe ESP for job scheduling
- Understanding of branched development (dev, QA, prod, etc.)
- Passion for data and its potential
- Experience analyzing LOBs and databases and writing scripts
- Experience connecting to additional sources such as Azure and MySQL
- CI/CD experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Candidates without a Computer Science or Information Technology degree should have significant work experience
