About the role
- Project Engineer providing technical support to Mill Operations and managing construction projects at Nutrien. Engaging in diverse engineering assignments in a heavy industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the Mill Operations and Maintenance Departments.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for construction projects; making feasibility and economic studies of alternative plans.
- Perform engineering assignments for a wide range of mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental projects including foundation, structural and mechanical design.
- Perform professional cost analyses and value engineering duties.
- Assist in establishing, modifying, and achieving the department's safety programs.
- Assisting in the technical direction and training of engineering and operations personnel; providing technical guidance and work supervision for engineering, technical and professional staff as needed.
- Monitoring the work of service providers to ensure that all regulations are being followed and work is being done safely.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in the field of Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Eligibility for Professional Engineer status in Saskatchewan.
- Varying levels of Engineers will be considered (Engineer-in-Training, Engineer, Sr. Engineer).
- Several years practical and progressively responsible experience in a heavy industrial environment is an asset.
- Experience in project management, including the ability to supervise the work of other professional and technical staff and contractors/consultants is preferred.
