About the role
- Accessibility Test Analyst validating web applications and digital documents for PLATO, Canada’s Indigenous-owned software testing company. Ensuring WCAG 2.1 and EN 301 549 compliance through manual testing and defect reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform accessibility testing of web applications, websites, PDFs, Word documents, forms, and other digital content
- Develop and execute accessibility test cases and test plans
- Identify, document, and track accessibility defects, mapping issues to accessibility standards and guidelines
- Conduct manual accessibility testing using screen readers and accessibility evaluation tools
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and business teams to provide remediation guidance and accessibility best practices
- Produce accessibility assessment reports and testing summaries
- Support accessibility compliance efforts throughout the software development lifecycle
Requirements
- 5+ years of software testing experience with significant accessibility testing expertise
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA standards
- Experience testing document accessibility and compliance with EN 301 549 requirements
- Hands-on experience with NVDA
- Hands-on experience with WAVE
- Hands-on experience with Axe DevTools
- Hands-on experience with WCAG Colour Contrast Checkers
- Hands-on experience with Color Blindness Emulators
- Experience performing keyboard, screen reader, colour contrast, form, navigation, and document accessibility testing
- Strong defect reporting, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
