About the role

  • Associate Project Engineer supporting the Preconstruction Team in evaluating project opportunities and advancing projects at Plus Power. Focused on energy storage development and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess energy storage technologies and site layout options to ensure alignment with technical requirements and long-term performance metrics
  • Support project design to maximize project value while minimizing construction and operational risks
  • Support analysis and present project technical risks and determination of de-risking solutions
  • Develop project capital and operational cost estimates and milestone schedules to be used in project financial valuation models
  • Support offtake, equipment procurement, as well as engineering and construction contracting activities to move projects towards NTP

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline required
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in technical roles or fields
  • Experience in Power, Energy, Renewables, or BESS with familiarity of industry-specific terminology strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of energy storage value proposition and/or technical fundamentals of energy storage projects
  • Basic experience with AutoCAD and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience supporting negotiations of technical elements of equipment supply, engineering, and construction agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed
  • Ability to evaluate risk and prioritize actions effectively under pressure or when faced with ambiguity
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative with a bias for action
  • Persuasive, clear, and concise writing and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically approximately 10-20% of the time.
