About the role

Intermediate Municipal Engineer managing civil engineering projects at GEMTEC. Collaborating with teams and ensuring project delivery within budget and scope.

Responsibilities

Leading and managing civil engineering projects from concept through completion
Ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and within scope municipal and transportation infrastructure
Commercial and residential subdivision land development
Site grading and mass detailed site earthworks for underground services
Preparation of stamped engineering drawings, quality assurance/control specifications and quantity estimates issued for tender and construction project administration.
Storm water modelling and management civil design
Organizing/carrying out construction quantity surveying / field inspections
Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
Preparing proposals and supporting business development initiatives
Participating in the implementation and adaptation of existing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines in the execution of all project work
Acting in support of other GEMTEC offices when needed to complete projects.

5+ years of experience in civil engineering practice with a preference for municipal engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills with a commitment to quality
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 (or newer version)
Experience with ArchGIS and/or QGIS software platforms would be considered an asset
Experience with hydraulic modeling software suites
Currently registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGNB
Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.
