About the role

  • Intermediate Municipal Engineer managing civil engineering projects at GEMTEC. Collaborating with teams and ensuring project delivery within budget and scope.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing civil engineering projects from concept through completion
  • Ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and within scope municipal and transportation infrastructure
  • Commercial and residential subdivision land development
  • Site grading and mass detailed site earthworks for underground services
  • Preparation of stamped engineering drawings, quality assurance/control specifications and quantity estimates issued for tender and construction project administration.
  • Storm water modelling and management civil design
  • Organizing/carrying out construction quantity surveying / field inspections
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Preparing proposals and supporting business development initiatives
  • Participating in the implementation and adaptation of existing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines in the execution of all project work
  • Acting in support of other GEMTEC offices when needed to complete projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering practice with a preference for municipal engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a commitment to quality
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 (or newer version)
  • Experience with ArchGIS and/or QGIS software platforms would be considered an asset
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software suites
  • Currently registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGNB
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.
