About the role

  • Early-Career Scientist or Engineer applying academic knowledge to site assessments and remediation. Collaborating with a diverse client base to solve environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Apply your academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment & remediation, groundwater management and water treatment for a diverse industrial and mining client base.
  • Manage project tasks and schedules, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects.
  • Provide contamination assessment services, such as designing and implementing sampling plans, reviewing chemical analysis results; supporting bench scale treatability testing, and pilot test programs.
  • Support aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analysis and chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluations.
  • Collaborate and mentor with experienced professionals who will guide and integrate you into Geosyntec’s culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering, geology or a related field of study (preferred)
  • Professional Certification - Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training (desirable)
  • At least 2 years of related experience conducting field investigations and studies, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Prior experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
