About the role

  • AI full-stack engineer building intelligent insurance software for PolicyMe, a Canadian digital insurance provider. Developing Python and React features, integrating AI models, and improving broker workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack features for an AI-powered web application
  • Integrate AI models and APIs for document processing, data extraction, and recommendation engines
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate models into production
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and frameworks
  • Build scalable, reliable backend services for AI workflows
  • Create intuitive user experiences exposing AI-powered capabilities
  • Participate in architecture planning, code reviews, and ideation sessions
  • Own feature development end-to-end, coordinating with QA and other teams
  • Communicate across teams to unblock dependencies and improve release flow
  • Contribute ideas during quarterly planning
  • Participate in hackathons, engineering guilds, and AI tooling experiments

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack development skills across backend and frontend
  • Proficiency in Python, React, Redux, PostgreSQL, and AWS
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts from coursework, side projects, or work experience
  • Hands-on experience or projects interacting with AI APIs/models, such as prompt engineering
  • Passion for building intelligent applications
  • Eagerness to learn, embrace ambiguity, and continually upskill
  • Self-starter with a career-driven mindset who thrives with autonomy and accountability
  • Collaborative, low-ego approach; open to feedback and eager to help others
  • Detail-oriented problem-solving, especially in complex domains
