About the role
- DevOps Specialist responsible for technical expertise in Java development and AWS automation. Ensuring high-quality software solutions and a reliable infrastructure at Portage CyberTech.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight of DevOps practices and advise on best-fit solutions.
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of our cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure security compliance and evaluate security measures.
- Improve and maintain automated integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
- Enhance system monitoring and alerting processes.
- Collaborate with other teams on projects and manage competing priorities.
- Develop or optimize tools and automations to simplify workflows.
- Support development and QA teams in managing their test environments.
- Participate in production deployments and ensure their reliability.
- Explore and integrate AI-based solutions to improve performance.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of DevOps experience
- Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and principles
- Expertise in the AWS ecosystem and its core services
- Methodical and organized in task and project management
- Experience in tuning and operating SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) tools
- Process automation and scripting languages: Python, Groovy, Bash, etc.
- DevOps tools: Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Git, Nexus, OpenSearch (Elasticsearch / Kibana), CloudWatch
- Development tools: IntelliJ, Eclipse, Maven, SonarQube
- Java Spring Boot microservices
- Jira, Confluence, Slack
- MongoDB (Atlas), PostgreSQL, MySQL (AWS Aurora)
- RabbitMQ, Keycloak, Twilio, Entrust PKI
- Nice to have: Knowledge of security (CVEs, networking, etc.)
