About the role
- AI Software Engineer building Azure cloud-native SaaS capabilities for Quest Software’s identity-recovery products. Applying AI coding agents across design, testing, debugging, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Define and advance AI-first software development practices for a cloud-native SaaS product on Microsoft Azure
- Contribute to adoption of AI-first software development practices across the project team
- Use AI coding agents and AI-assisted development platforms in solution design, implementation, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code reviews, and technical documentation
- Design reusable prompts, agent instructions, development workflows, validation steps, and guardrails for responsible AI-assisted software development
- Design, build, test, and maintain scalable, serverless, cloud-native SaaS capabilities
- Build commercial products across Microsoft technologies including Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint
- Contribute to architecture, technical decision-making, code reviews, CI/CD, release readiness, and ownership of critical product components
- Work in an Agile SCRUM environment
Requirements
- Completion of a computer science undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Five or more years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on C# and .NET experience
- Professional experience using AI coding agents, AI-assisted development tools, or agentic development workflows as a substantial part of real software development work
- Advanced practical experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, or comparable AI-powered development platforms
- Ability to apply AI coding tools to improve software design, implementation productivity, code quality, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code review, or technical documentation
- Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Functions, Microsoft Graph API, Azure Data Explorer, Cosmos DB, AKS, ACA, and Event Hubs
- Experience building Azure cloud applications using event-driven, service-based, or microservice architectures
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and relational databases such as SQL or Azure Data Explorer
- Experience writing quality code using unit testing, mocking, automation, integration testing, and code coverage
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles, secure development, automated testing, continuous integration, debugging, and maintainable software architecture
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical leadership and effective collaboration in an Agile team environment
- Experience developing and maintaining YAML CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar systems (nice to have)
- Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, large language model APIs, evaluation frameworks, observability, or AI application security (nice to have)
- Frontend development using Angular, React, or TypeScript (nice to have)
- Proficiency in PowerShell, ARM Templates, or Terraform (nice to have)
- Proficiency in Python (nice to have)
- Experience with claims-based authentication, including SAML, OAuth, OIDC, JWT, MFA, and RBAC (nice to have)
- Secure web development practices including OWASP and SANS Top 25 (nice to have)
