About the role
- Database Activity Monitoring specialist ensuring security and integrity of databases as part of the Data Protection team. Proactive identification and detection of threats associated with database assets in a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage database activity monitoring (DAM) solutions to track and analyze database user behavior
- Monitor real-time database activity, identify anomalies, and promptly respond to potential security threats
- Develop security policies to detect suspicious database activity
- Work with application teams and data owners to identify potential database risks
- Create and maintain documentation on technical processes and troubleshooting
- Stay up to date if emerging threats and industry best practices to continually enhance DAM strategies
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of database technologies, architecture & standard query language (SQL)
- Detailed knowledge of database systems, security protocols, and access controls
- Ability to analyze and interpret database activity logs to identify potential security issues
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- 2-5 years of cyber security or relevant experience
- Experience in implementing and managing database activity monitoring solutions (nice to have)
- Professional Designation (e.g. CISSP, CRISC, CCSP, etc..)(nice to have)
- Proficiency in scripting or programming language for data visualization (nice to have)
