Transportation analyst reviewing development designs, traffic studies, and right-of-way requests for Peel Region. Coordinating engineering inquiries and recommendations for regional transportation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Receive and coordinate responses to all external inquiries
Establish business processes for Divisional response coordination
Establish service levels and response timelines
Track business performance, address deficiencies and escalate issues for resolution
Coordinate, track and respond to encroachment and surplus land circulations on Regional road rights-of-way or infrastructure
Liaise with internal and external contacts
Review and process detailed engineering submissions for development applications involving property requirements, stormwater drainage, proposed accesses and road improvements
Review and comment on site plans, plans of subdivision, committee of adjustment applications, access requests, detailed engineering designs and traffic impact studies
Correspond with Councillors, planning consultants, engineering consultants and the general public
Work with developers, consultants and internal staff to provide information for development applications
Make informed recommendations on permitted works within the Region’s right-of-way based on engineering drawing reviews
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Successful completion of a degree or diploma in Transportation / Civil Engineering Technology and/or Transportation Planning
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
Demonstrated skills and experience in project management and traffic operations
Knowledge of TAC, OTM, OGDSM, Highway Traffic Act and other relevant legislation
Knowledge of development and application processes, EA process and traffic forecasting
Thorough knowledge of computerized traffic engineering applications and methodologies, including Synchro and Microstation
Valid “G” driver’s license in good standing
Daily access to a vehicle
Strong public relations, communication, organizational, administration and problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills
