Technical Lead overseeing Building Technology Integration Services at RioCan. Collaborating with IT, Operations, and vendors in Toronto.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Project Management teams to define clear roles and responsibilities, set milestones, and provide timely status updates.
Execute project work plans and revise them as necessary to address changing needs and requirements.
Act as the Technical Lead on Building of Things (BoT) projects, recommending solutions to technical challenges and coordinating on-site diagnosis with involved parties.
Create, update, and maintain a site asset hardware database for accurate tracking of equipment.
Pilot new BoT technologies in a laboratory setting to assess feasibility and performance.
Coordinate with vendors for installations and troubleshooting and facilitate communication between multiple vendors and property management teams.
Conduct on-site technical troubleshooting and work with third-party support teams to resolve issues.
Assist with vendor management and participate in regular meetings with property management teams.
Participate in the development and communication of IT policies, procedures, and standards.
Ensure that all security practices are compliant with company policies and procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve the security and efficiency of building technology systems.
Participate in research and evaluation of new technologies relevant to building integration services.
Provide technical consultation and support to project management and support teams.
Champion the adoption of new technologies across various property sites and keep IT management informed of any technical challenges encountered.
Handle IT tasks related to new office setups, expansions, or property development projects.
Provide after-hours support for emergency technical assistance and scheduled projects as needed.
Regularly travel to site offices to fulfill job requirements
Requirements
Strong technical knowledge of building network infrastructure, telecommunications, and BoT (Building of Things) technologies with 5+ years of experience
Excellent project management and collaboration skills
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical issues
Experience creating and maintaining hardware asset databases
Effective communication with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams is crucial, along with adaptability to evolving technologies and requirements
