About the role
- IT Project Manager leading AI, SaaS, digital platform, and automation initiatives at global dairy processor Saputo. Managing enterprise delivery, vendors, budgets, risks, and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the project approach from concept through execution, including delivery strategy, work breakdown structure, staffing model, deliverables, and integrated project plan
- Establish project scope, estimates, schedule, costs, assumptions, and external dependencies
- Plan, manage, and deliver high-impact IT projects focused on AI use cases, SaaS implementations, digital platform deployments, process automation, data-driven solutions, and business transformation
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Saputo IT Leadership Team covering risks, issues, decisions, and recommendations
- Communicate project information, plan changes, team structure, commitments, and dependencies to affected stakeholders
- Lead and guide diverse project teams through influence and ensure adherence to quality assurance processes
- Manage internal and external relationships and coordinate work between global teams in a multi-site delivery model
- Manage third-party vendors and system integrators, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, commercial governance, and delivery oversight
- Adapt PMO work-planning processes and tools; maintain work plans and monitor actuals, costs, schedules, and variances
- Track deliverables against baselines and obtain stakeholder signoffs
- Control project scope and requirements and present threshold-exceeding scope changes for approval
- Manage project resources, capacity, roles, responsibilities, staffing, and shared resources
- Capture, manage, resolve, and escalate project risks and issues affecting schedule, resources, costs, and quality
- Define statements of work, support contract negotiations, establish delivery governance, manage financials and change controls, and ensure vendor performance
- Define and manage quality gates and perform quality planning, assurance, and control activities
- Contribute to PMO tools, processes, and methodology improvements
- Coach and support IT resources in project management skills
Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing environments (Consumer Packaged Goods preferred) or related industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; ability to provide updates to Director and VP levels; adept at building relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Experience reporting to and working with senior management and steering committees with stakeholders in IT and the Business
- Strong Business Acumen
- Experience managing Projects end to end from Initiation to Project Closure, including building Project Plans, managing resources, forecasting project budgets over $1M, tracking actuals, and leading Steering Committees
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
- Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum (i.e. PMP, Prince II)
- SCRUM Master certification or successful completion of projects in hybrid or agile environments (asset)
- A minimum of 8 years of total IT project delivery experience, of which 3-5 years include leading full delivery lifecycle as well as managing a diverse team
- Experience delivering large projects or programs with complex application delivery
- Experience managing multiple system integrators
- Experience managing a global Deployment is an asset
- Experience delivering AI Use Case from Minimal Viable Product to full scale deployment (asset)
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to coordinate 20+ shared resources and collaborate at all levels; strong people management skills including delegation, motivation, coaching, and conflict management capabilities
- Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced project environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work-streams, teams, business divisions, geographies, time zones, and languages
- Experience managing packaged software and SaaS implementation methodologies; cross functional exposure, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain and HR/Payroll an asset
- Expert-level proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, MS Project Professional and Excel) and SharePoint
- French/English bilingual competency is an asset
- Product management knowledge or working experience is an asset
