About the role
- Senior IT project manager leading SAP, SaaS, and business transformation programs for global dairy processor Saputo. Managing complex delivery, vendors, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the project approach from concept through execution, translating ambiguous business objectives into delivery strategies, work breakdown structures, staffing models, deliverables, and integrated project plans
- Establish project scope, estimates, schedules, costs, assumptions, and external dependencies
- Provide the Saputo IT Leadership Team with weekly progress reports covering risks, issues, decisions, and recommendations
- Communicate project information and changes to affected team members and stakeholders
- Lead and support diverse teams through influence and ensure adherence to quality assurance processes
- Manage internal and external relationships and coordinate work between global teams in a multi-site delivery model
- Lead end-to-end third-party vendor and system integrator management, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, commercial governance, and delivery oversight
- Manage work plans, deliverables, actuals, cost and schedule variances
- Control project scope and requirements and present qualifying scope changes for leadership approval
- Generate and distribute project progress and status information
- Manage project resources, capacity, roles, responsibilities, staffing plans, and shared capacity
- Capture, track, resolve, and escalate project risks and issues affecting schedule, resources, costs, or quality
- Define statements of work, support contract negotiations, establish delivery governance, manage financials and change controls, and ensure vendor performance
- Manage quality planning, assurance, control activities, quality gates, and deliverable signoffs
- Contribute to PMO tools, processes, and methodology improvements
- Coach and support IT resources in developing project management skills
Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing environments (Consumer Packaged Goods preferred) or related industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; ability to provide updates to Director and VP levels; adept at building relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Experience reporting to and working with senior management and steering committees with stakeholders in IT and the Business
- Strong Business Acumen
- Experience managing projects end to end from initiation to project closure, including building project plans, managing resources, forecasting project budgets over $1M, tracking actuals, and leading steering committees
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
- Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum (i.e. PMP, Prince II)
- SCRUM Master certification or successful completion of projects in hybrid or agile environments (asset)
- A minimum of 12 years of total IT project delivery experience, of which 5 years include leading full delivery lifecycle as well as managing a diverse team
- Experience delivering SAP projects (asset)
- Experience delivering large projects or programs with complex application delivery
- Experience managing multiple system integrators
- Experience managing a global deployment (asset)
- Experience delivering AI use cases from minimal viable product to full-scale deployment (asset)
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to coordinate 20+ shared resources and collaborate at all levels; strong people management skills including delegation, motivation, coaching, and conflict management capabilities
- Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced project environments with interdependencies spanning multiple workstreams, teams, business divisions, geographies, time zones, and languages
- Experience managing packaged software and SaaS implementation methodologies; cross-functional exposure, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and HR/Payroll (asset)
- Expert-level proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, MS Project Professional, and Excel) and SharePoint
- French/English bilingual competency (asset)
- Product management knowledge or working experience (asset)
