About the role

  • Director of Data at ZayZoon managing analytics and engineering teams. Leading initiatives to improve data infrastructure and insights for employee financial wellness platform.

Responsibilities

  • Set a clear, pragmatic vision for how data supports ZayZoon’s growth, defining the fundamentals of data infrastructure, modeling, and analytics as we scale
  • Build the core data foundations from the ground up, establishing reliable, secure, and accessible systems that teams can trust day-to-day
  • Put simple, effective data governance in place, clarifying ownership, standards, and documentation without slowing teams down
  • Coach and grow a high-impact data team, setting strong expectations and rolling up your sleeves to work closely with them
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to focus early data efforts on revenue visibility, operational efficiency, and better decision-making

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics, with 3+ years of direct people management experience
  • Deep experience across the full data stack, from sources and ETL pipelines to warehouses, orchestration, governance, and analytics with a love for being hands-on, turning challenges into solutions right alongside your team
  • You’ve set up north star metrics and KPI frameworks before, and you know how to guide teams through changes in process, governance, and tools so everyone stays aligned
  • You think about infrastructure with the big picture in mind, balancing immediate business needs with long-term growth, and you understand how systems like CRM, CDP, and data warehouses fit together to drive results
  • You’ve successfully built and led data engineering and analytics teams, transforming how organizations approach and trust their data along the way
