About the role

  • Eco Assembly Operator operating production machinery and inspecting automotive components. Supporting quality, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operator training at Schaeffler Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Work under direct supervision of the immediate Leader and routine operational guidance of others
  • Follow standard work instructions and work specifications
  • Collect, record, document and enter required data
  • Operate all machines within the defined work area
  • Perform operator TPM and complete fault tags where required
  • Perform basic problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve production/process issues
  • Maintain responsibility for the quality and quantity of work produced
  • Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment
  • Train other operators as needed
  • Work in other departments when required
  • Read and interpret production prints
  • Confirm operational/technical questions with the area Setter, Technician or Leader when necessary

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Able to read and interpret production prints
  • Familiarity with the setup, calibration and maintenance of tools, equipment, systems, processes and machines used to perform the work
  • Ability to perform operator TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance)
  • Ability to perform basic problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Ability to inspect work using precision measuring equipment
  • Must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check
  • Must be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Candidates on temporary work permits may require a Canadian government exemption to access export-controlled goods
