About the role
- Honing Machine Operator producing aerospace components for Schaeffler Aerospace Canada. Operating CNC or manual equipment, troubleshooting processes, and inspecting finished work.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate at least one production process using CNC or manually controlled equipment
- Perform problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues to meet required standards
- Ensure the quality and quantity of work produced by the machine
- Analyze machine problems and take corrective action in a timely manner
- Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment
- Accurately record data in routers, IMS, and other production tracking systems
- Perform inspection of own work under the Certified Operator Program
- Train other operators as needed
- Work in other departments or set up machines for other operators when required
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards in all areas
- Meet applicable training-matrix skill requirements and maintain company certification
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma
- Equivalent machining background or mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret production prints
- Adequate computer skills to access production procedures
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production/process issues
- Ability to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment
- Criminal background check required
- Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Temporary residents/international students require Canadian government exemption for access to export-controlled goods

- Competitive wages – starting rate: $28.85; top rate: $33.10 per hour + shift premiums
