About the role
- Milling Machine Operator producing aerospace components for Schaeffler Aerospace Canada. Operating CNC processes, inspecting output, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining production equipment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multiple CNC production processes
- Perform basic problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues to meet required standards
- Ensure the quality and quantity of work produced by the process
- Monitor production processes according to the maintenance schedule and perform routine maintenance in a timely manner
- Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment to assess quality
- Follow and accurately record data in routers, IMS, and other production tracking systems
- Train other operators as needed
- Work in other departments or occasionally set up a machine for others to operate
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards in all areas
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma
- Related milling experience or mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret production prints
- Adequate computer skills to access production procedures
- Ability to set up and operate multiple CNC production processes
- Ability to perform basic problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment to inspect work
- Ability to perform routine machine maintenance
- Must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Candidates on temporary work permits require Canadian government exemption for access to export-controlled goods
