About the role
- Side Grinding Machine Operator setting up CNC or manual production equipment for Schaeffler Aerospace Canada. Inspecting output, troubleshooting processes, and maintaining production quality and 5S standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate at least one production process, including CNC or manually controlled equipment
- Perform basic problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues
- Ensure the quality and quantity of work produced
- Monitor production processes according to the maintenance schedule
- Perform routine maintenance in a timely manner
- Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment
- Record data in routers, IMS, and other production tracking systems
- Train other operators as needed
- Work in other departments or set up processes for other operators when required
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check
- Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Ability to read and interpret production prints
- Adequate computer skills to access production procedures
- Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and maintain certification through company Certified Operator Program
