About the role
- Principal Resource Geologist developing geological and block models for SLR’s environmental and sustainability consulting projects. Leading resource estimation, due diligence, project delivery, and client advisory work.
Responsibilities
- Development of geological models or interpretations
- Construction of block models for mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates
- Participation in the preparation of NI 43-101 Reports or international equivalents
- Perform due diligence reviews to support project financing, and mergers and acquisitions
- Project management, including leadership of other geologists and third-party consulting groups
- Working with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological findings and interpretations with those of other scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines
- Ensuring successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction
- Prepare proposals and contribute to the development and execution of service line, business sector, and client business development plans
- Liaise and build relationships with clients and ensure excellent service delivery
- Mentor junior geologists and participate in internal and external training/mentorship opportunities
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar geological role in the mining or environmental services industry
- Significant knowledge of Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo and Edge modelling software
- Knowledge of an additional mining software package such as Datamine/Vulcan/Surpac/Micromine is considered an asset
- Experience with 3D geological modelling, data analysis, and drill planning
- Knowledge of geostatistical mineral resource estimation fundamentals
- Undergraduate degree in the geosciences
- Registered Licensed Professional such as P.Geo. or equivalent
- Master’s degree preferred
