About the role

  • Operational Security Advisor protecting information assets for the Quebec government. Developing and supervising security measures, conducting risk analyses, and managing security incidents.

Responsibilities

  • In order to protect the information assets of the Government of Quebec, the incumbent serves as an Operational Security Advisor. They develop, adapt and oversee security controls to protect an organization’s assets, people and information, notably during events or intrusions.
  • The Operational Security Advisor is specifically responsible for:
  • Categorizing assets according to their criticality and use
  • Conducting internal risk analyses
  • Supervising risk analyses performed by other providers
  • Operating security systems and security-related data
  • Assessing existing security controls and recommending improvements
  • Defining current and future security architectures
  • Managing security incidents related to IT infrastructure
  • Analyzing client requests related to network security
  • Developing and monitoring the implementation of security measures
  • Ensuring alignment between the various stakeholders and contracts
  • Participating in technology decommissioning activities (log collection, intrusion detection, etc.)

Requirements

  • Hold a first-cycle university degree (Bachelor’s) in Information Technology or Engineering;
  • Hold at least one cybersecurity-related certification from the following list:
  • ➢ CompTIA, CISSP, CCSP, SSCP, CISA, CRISC, CEH, GSEC, ISACA, SANS, (ISC)², ISO/IEC 27001, PECB ISO/IEC 27005 Senior Lead Risk Manager, PECB ISO/IEC 27001 Senior Lead Implementer.
