About the role

Technical Product Manager owning automated underwriting and loan-origination platforms at Spring Financial, a Canadian fintech. Driving API, AI, risk, and product outcomes for hundreds of thousands of Canadians.

Responsibilities

Own the underwriting and originations roadmap and maintain a defensible priority order tied to business goals, credit and risk constraints, team capacity, and documented trade-offs
Replace manual underwriting and origination steps with automated decisioning and measure results against the processes replaced
Keep a human in the loop for cases requiring manual review
Own the platform’s API surface, design new APIs, invoke and test API calls, and catch integration issues before QA
Test loan journeys end-to-end from application through decision to origination
Validate shipped functionality against requirements and manage issue tracking across engineering, QA, credit, risk, and operations
Write complete requirements including acceptance criteria, edge cases, API and data notes, validation plans, and rollout considerations
Own go/no-go criteria, feature flags, phasing, and rollback plans
Run cross-functional alignment sessions and resolve priority conflicts
Maintain a discovery cadence using user feedback, support patterns, operational metrics, and competitive benchmarks
Identify AI opportunities to improve decision quality, automation, or operational productivity
Own domain KPIs and connect initiatives to documented outcomes
Mentor L1 product managers

Demonstrated ability to own a product roadmap and lead cross-functional delivery with independently defensible prioritization decisions
Able to design APIs aligned with an architectural modeling approach, invoke and test API calls directly, and contribute to API contract and data model decisions
Able to explain how a feature delivers value, how it is technically implemented, and how it compares to competitor offerings
Experience running alignment sessions that produce documented decisions across business, engineering, design, QA, credit, risk, and operations
Track record of driving structured outcomes across competing priorities when the problem is not yet well defined
Experience shipping features that handle sensitive financial or customer data with appropriate security and compliance controls
Proven use of AI tools for discovery, research, and identifying product opportunities
Track record of connecting product initiatives to measurable business results
