About the role

Principal Geotechnical and Geohazards Engineer at Stantec leading projects related to geohazards. Collaborating with specialists to mitigate risks and enhance infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Identify and prioritize key clients and growth opportunities.
Win major projects across the region.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
Mentor junior and intermediate staff and collaborate with experienced colleagues.
Model natural hazard phenomena using industry leading software.
Write reports and be responsible for their technical accuracy.

A PhD in a related discipline is preferred, but a Master's degree and demonstrated understanding, training, and experience to meet the requirements above will be considered.
Advanced subject matter expertise in debris flows, debris flow assessments, models, and debris flow mitigation.
Registered as, or eligible to register as a P.Eng. in Alberta and/or British Columbia.
Demonstrated experience using geohazards models.
Demonstrated experience designing landslide mitigation.
Strong preference for candidates with ArcGIS Pro experience.
Ability to work with and communicate to a team of Engineers and Geoscientists.
Willingness to travel and participate in remote field work.
Physically fit and able to endure hiking in rugged terrain.
Strong communications and writing skills.
Fluent in English.
A valid driver’s license.
