About the role

  • Principal Geotechnical and Geohazards Engineer at Stantec leading projects related to geohazards. Collaborating with specialists to mitigate risks and enhance infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize key clients and growth opportunities.
  • Win major projects across the region.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff and collaborate with experienced colleagues.
  • Model natural hazard phenomena using industry leading software.
  • Write reports and be responsible for their technical accuracy.

Requirements

  • A PhD in a related discipline is preferred, but a Master's degree and demonstrated understanding, training, and experience to meet the requirements above will be considered.
  • Advanced subject matter expertise in debris flows, debris flow assessments, models, and debris flow mitigation.
  • Registered as, or eligible to register as a P.Eng. in Alberta and/or British Columbia.
  • Demonstrated experience using geohazards models.
  • Demonstrated experience designing landslide mitigation.
  • Strong preference for candidates with ArcGIS Pro experience.
  • Ability to work with and communicate to a team of Engineers and Geoscientists.
  • Willingness to travel and participate in remote field work.
  • Physically fit and able to endure hiking in rugged terrain.
  • Strong communications and writing skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • A valid driver’s license.
