About the role
- Senior Backend Engineer building scalable Java services for Just Eat Takeaway.com’s partners. Developing microservices and collaborating across teams in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain existing and develop new microservices using Java 21.
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate daily with Mobile, Web, and Product counterparts.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, design patterns, testing, and debugging.
- Solid understanding of consuming, producing, and designing RESTful web services.
- Experience with Docker containers and microservices architecture.
- Experience with Java (Spark and Quarkus frameworks).
- Familiarity with continuous delivery, deployment, and integration.
- Optional: Experience mentoring/influencing peers.
