About the role

  • Business management leader overseeing strategy, risk, governance, and team operations. Supporting TD’s integrated banking services across Canada, the United States, and global markets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a medium to large business management team or diverse function
  • Develop, communicate, and implement an integrated strategy for the business management function
  • Oversee, lead, manage, and plan work activities across multiple areas
  • Lead development and implementation of policies, processes, procedures, and changes
  • Advise management and teams on industry, enterprise, and business matters
  • Identify emerging trends, issues, opportunities, and recommended actions
  • Lead relationships with enterprise partners and leadership teams
  • Provide aggregated views, escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership
  • Forecast programs, initiatives, and demand; coordinate portfolio prioritization
  • Deliver aligned communications to stakeholders and employees
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise frameworks, methodologies, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite
  • Identify, mitigate, monitor, and report risk and compliance issues
  • Optimize organizational resources and operating model efficiency
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional and enterprise initiatives
  • Lead governance meetings, committees, and related deliverables
  • Facilitate action and remediation plans for performance, risk, and governance issues
  • Provide team leadership, target setting, coaching, development, succession, recruitment, and resource management
  • Foster productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork, and professionalism
  • Coordinate resources and ensure deadline completion
  • Establish relationships across business and technology partners
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses / technology, and organizational practices/ disciplines
  • Sound to advanced knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own function / business
  • Knowledge of enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to business management activities
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, risk management, controls, and compliance
  • Ability to lead a medium to large business management team or diverse function
  • Ability to manage short- to medium-term planning and cross-functional alignment
  • Ability to establish relationships with business and technology partners, program and project managers
  • Ability to work in a moderate-risk, complexity, or scope environment
