About the role

Infrastructure Architect leading the architecture and design of IT infrastructure for Telesat Lightspeed. Collaborating with teams to ensure effective resource management and design decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and design of IT infrastructure essential for the development of Telesat Lightspeed.
Manage strategy, deliverables, documentation, and final design in collaboration with existing teams.
Own the overall IT infrastructure design for Telesat Lightspeed.
Ensure current and evolving IT resource requirements are captured, tracked, analyzed, and costed.
Engage with stakeholders regularly and present design decisions at both technical and financial levels.

University degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related stream.
Must have at least 7 years’ experience in the installation, configuration and operation of data centre based environments including servers, storage and networking.
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in building out on-premise, secure data centre based hardware clusters (network, servers and storage).
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in design, building and managing enterprise networks including network switches, firewalls and related monitoring.
Proven experience in the deployment and operation of Cloud-based infrastructure is required.
Proven experience in the deployment and operation of hypervisors (VMware, KVM) is required.
