About the role
- Part-time Fitness and Wellness Consultant delivering group exercise, gym supervision, and wellness programs. Supporting TELUS Health’s healthcare mission for Canadian employees.
Responsibilities
- Create community and teach a variety of group exercise classes
- Supervise the on-site gym and oversee regular equipment maintenance
- Build community through participation in charity and other special events
- Create and conduct creative, informative, and motivational communications for employees
- Provide one-on-one consultations, including fitness assessments and individual health and fitness programs
- Instruct stretch and mobility breaks
- Plan, create, and implement fitness and wellness challenges, events, interactive programs, webinars, and workshops
- Report monthly and/or quarterly participation statistics
- Facilitate completion of screening forms and waivers for new members and annually
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on targeted fitness and wellness programming
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Fitness or Health promotion
- Current certifications in Fitness Class Instruction and CPR/First Aid/AED
- Spin certification is an asset
- Personal training certification
- Energetic, confident, reliable, positive, engaging with a passion for fitness and health
- High degree of self-motivation and initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Competent in administrative tasks and prioritizing
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and customer service skills
- Strong computer skills with ability to adapt to and learn various software applications
- Experience in the corporate fitness & wellness field is a must
