About the role
- Dermatologist reviewing dermoscopic mole-mapping images for TELUS Health’s remote skin-cancer screening service. Providing reports and national clinical oversight without direct patient care.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret full-body mole mapping and dermoscopic images captured using advanced imaging technology
- Identify suspicious skin lesions and provide dermatologic reports
- Provide impressions and recommendations to treating practitioners
- Collaborate, when requested, with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary, patient-centered model
- Contribute to continuous improvement of image review protocols
- Optionally engage in education or research related to skin cancer screening
- Provide national clinical governance and oversight to ensure consistency and quality across the service
- Combine hands-on mole mapping clinical practice with broader leadership and oversight responsibilities
- Refine the allocation of clinical and oversight duties based on candidate experience and service needs
- Work without direct patient interaction or operation of imaging equipment
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent)
- Certification in Dermatology or equivalent Dermoscopy certification (PGDip)
- Valid medical license in the province of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in dermoscopy techniques and interpretation
- Experience or familiarity with mole mapping systems such as FotoFinder or Vectra is an asset
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail in image-based dermatologic assessment
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a remote, collaborative medical team
- Demonstrated interest in digital dermatology and innovative medical technologies
- Approximately 80–90% direct clinical work in mole mapping and 10–20% clinical oversight duties for the service
- Availability for a flexible Monday–Friday daytime schedule
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week
