About the role

  • Bilingual cruise reservation agent selling reservations and multi-destination travel packages for Canada’s HIS Travel. Handling customer inquiries, bookings, payments, and sales targets remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries and calls in a timely, courteous, and professional manner
  • Process bookings, reservations, and modifications accurately
  • Assist customers throughout the booking process
  • Generate revenue and achieve sales targets
  • Contribute to call center KPIs and individual performance targets
  • Identify opportunities to promote products and services meeting customer needs
  • Provide exceptional customer service and a positive customer experience
  • Stay current on products, services, promotions, procedures, and technology
  • Identify and solve challenges
  • Contribute to continuous departmental improvements
  • Sell complete multi-destination packages and à la carte products
  • Follow up on files with suppliers and travel agents
  • Follow up on payments
  • Create and follow up on sales reports
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bilingual in French and English, spoken and written
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Travel/Tourism school diploma or equivalent related travel industry experience
  • Up to and including one year of on-the-job experience and/or performing similar duties required
  • OPC/TICO is an asset
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism and patience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage stress
  • Excellent selling skills and results-driven approach
  • General knowledge of geography
  • Knowledge of the travel industry
  • Microsoft Office knowledge and ability to learn new software
  • Knowledge of Sabre is an asset
  • Availability for rotating shifts Monday–Friday, 9:00am–8:00pm ET, and Saturday, 10:00am–4:00pm ET
  • 37.5 hours per week
