- Security Officer position at Umicore overseeing safety operations and leading security staff. Ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures while safeguarding premises and assets.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading security staff to support smooth, safe, and continuous business operations
- Manage security department and ensure compliance with security management systems and policies
- Implement and monitor policies and guidelines related to security and emergency response
- Regular review of security procedures and provide recommendations for improvement
- Safeguards premises against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry - enforces all security rules
- Performs opening/closing duties
- Oversees/checks and logs all movement of precious metals and sundry items in and out of the building
- Conducts employee searches with metal detection equipment
- Maintains and oversees all security logs
- Monitors CCTV and patrols building for security and safety breaches
- Assist with delivery and pick-ups of precious metal orders
- Assist with checking delivery status on previously shipped packages
- Administers First Aid when required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- Two year law and security College Diploma preferred
- 2 year Security officer experience
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- High integrity
- Work independently
- Communicate skills in English
- Work well under pressure
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Take instruction well
- Police check required
