Construction Equipment Technician at Premier Equipment inspecting and repairing John Deere and competitive construction equipment. Supporting builders and landscapers in Ontario by maintaining machinery performance.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, assemble/disassemble, and maintain compact construction equipment from John Deere and competitive brands.
Use diagnostic tools and John Deere’s Service Advisor system to perform accurate evaluations and document service work.
Order required parts for service jobs and coordinate with the parts department as needed.
Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures during service assignments.
Maintain current technical knowledge through ongoing training, including John Deere University (JDU) programs.
Review and explain service work and maintenance recommendations with the service office and occasionally with customers.
Participate in product clinics or other customer-facing service events as required.
Operate and test equipment for diagnostic purposes as part of repair workflows.
Requirements
2+ years of experience performing equipment repairs and maintenance.
421A or 425A License is required.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in construction and compact equipment.
Proficient in using computer systems for diagnostics and work order documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and repair procedures.
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
Experience operating construction equipment during diagnostics and post-repair testing.
Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract.
Experience with construction equipment (e.g. skid steers, compact track loaders, mini excavators) is an asset.
