Responsibilities
Configure system applications according to needs
Create complex technical documentation and user support guides
Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and server problems
Conduct preventative maintenance on computing systems
Liaise with technical specialists to resolve end-user issues
Plan and implement components of IT-related projects
Execute security measures for network devices and introduce variations as required
Keep informed on current technologies, best practices, and industry standards
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years of recent experience with server, network, and system administration, support, and troubleshooting in a heterogeneous computing environment
Experience with endpoint management administration using MS Intune, SCCM, and KACE
Experience administering Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
Experience with Unix/Linux (Ubuntu), Windows 11 and Server 2019/2022/2025, Apple OS/X, virtualized servers, vSphere, and VMware
Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining networking infrastructure and security, including Palo Alto firewalls and switches
Linux/UNIX shell, Bash, and PowerShell scripting skills
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs
Knowledge of digital certificates, vulnerability management, endpoint security, patch management, system monitoring, and backup/recovery practices
Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint site and site collection administration
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
Ability to write technical specifications, operational documentation, and end-user documentation
Ability to communicate technical concepts to persons with non-technical backgrounds
Ability to work under high-pressure conditions and with multiple competing deadlines and priorities
Assets: understanding of project management and procurement processes
Assets: certificates in endpoint administration, network, security, and/or privacy, or progress toward them
Asset: ITIL Foundations certification
Familiarity with the University environment, governance, and policies
