About the role
- Buyer coordinating raw-material purchasing, supplier forecasts, inventory checks, and purchase orders for Väderstad’s agricultural machinery manufacturing operations. Maternity leave coverage on a 12–14 month contract.
Responsibilities
- Support the coordination, organization, purchasing, documentation, and delivery of raw materials and products to Väderstad Industries
- Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to support day-to-day purchasing activities
- Process, track, and follow up on purchase orders
- Participate in resolving purchasing and administrative issues
- Assist the Purchasing Supervisor with the creation and distribution of supplier forecasts at appropriate intervals
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date filing of purchase orders, quotes, reports, and other office functions
- Bring forward options for alternative suppliers and products
- Perform stock counts and inventory level checks as required
- Follow safety measures and best practices
- Participate in other assigned projects
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Diploma in Business administration an asset
- Knowledge of ERP systems an asset
- Knowledge/training in Lean manufacturing an asset
- Excellent communication, organizational and telephone skills
- Ability to work co-operatively with a variety of employees and as a member of a team
- Ability to work independently as an enthusiastic, dedicated self starter, and to meet goals in a timely manner
