About the role
- Quality Control Technician ensuring food products meet safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Conducting inspections, sample testing, and supporting compliance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the QA Supervisor, Quality Control Technician 2 is responsible for ensuring food products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Sampling, inspecting, testing, releasing raw ingredients and finished products on the line
- Finished Product sample collection
- Assist with Hold/release procedures, monitor/verify FP sorting practices.
- Accurate and timely completion of Quality related documentation
- Monitor standards of cleanliness and general housekeeping according to established GMP standards during pre-ops, start-ups.
- Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with HACCP plans, CCP verification, and monitor results and adjust as required.
- Ongoing maintenance of laboratory including equipment cleaning and regular calibration.
- Ongoing inspection and documentation of sanitation activities on the line
- Work with other plant team members to identify and implement continuous improvement solutions
- Assist in improvement, organization and efficiency of the QC & manufacturing departments through proper documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1 – 2 years of experience in food processing or related industry
- Relevant post-secondary educations/training
- Have an in-depth knowledge of lab tests and methodology used in the food industry
- Written & verbal communication skills
- The proven ability to make & sustain effective interpersonal relationships
- Demonstrated proficiency with MSOffice
- Ability to operate effectively in a customer focused, fast-paced team environment
