Responsibilities
- Design and develop applications
- Define the functional specifications of interfaces
- Design and oversee comprehensive application test plans
- Document results and analyses, and identify functional and non-functional testing needs
- Provide Level 3 support for applications in production and ensure their performance
- Serve as a technical expert within project teams
- Conduct code reviews and mentor less experienced developers
- Develop, modify, and manage the growth of applications, their components, and their integration
- Select appropriate technical solutions
- Optimize application development and maintenance
- Ensure component interoperability, feature integrity, and overall system reliability
- Modernize tools and evolve strategic applications supporting the City of Montreal’s taxation and property assessment systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent academic qualification) in computer science or another relevant field
- 4 years of experience related to the position’s responsibilities
- Strong proficiency in full-stack development using an object-oriented approach focused on code quality
- Proficiency in Angular, Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
- Understanding of APIs (REST), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices in an agile environment
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot
