About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform management, installation, customization, and integration activities for various software products across technology platforms
  • Ensure data standardization and implement measures to optimize the performance and availability of components in production
  • Provide technical support to various teams by resolving complex and critical incidents and determining final diagnoses
  • Recommend fixes and action plans to ensure standards meet the City’s objectives and industry standards
  • Coordinate the implementation of plans and initiatives related to the area of expertise with the stakeholders involved
  • Manage all systems connected to the Mainframe environment and its various applications
  • Define integrity, performance, and availability criteria for the related infrastructure systems
  • Analyze potential impacts and adapt processes as needed
  • Ensure operational continuity and effective demand management for z/OS Mainframe services and their components
  • Participate in IT projects involving payroll, human resources, budgeting, taxation, property assessment, and asset management
  • Contribute to the evolution of systems toward cloud computing in PaaS/SaaS environments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic training in computer science or another relevant field
  • Four years of experience in a mainframe systems environment
  • Experience managing z/OS operating systems and applying best practices to keep the operating system and various applications up to date
  • Experience automating jobs using Control-M and Control-M/EM
  • Significant accomplishments related to the challenges of the position
  • Knowledge of CICS software and various CA tools
  • Knowledge of Adabas (Natural) and IDMS databases
  • Appointment must be recommended upon completion of the SPVM security accreditation process
