About the role

  • Chief Operating Officer leading enterprise sales, advisory, and Wealth Management operations for Tru Cooperative Bank. Driving growth, compliance, financial performance, and member value across British Columbia.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the organization’s member-serving sales and advice businesses, including regional brands and Wealth Management
  • Lead and remain accountable for the enterprise sales and advisory model across all brands and lines of business
  • Drive alignment and collaboration by standardizing sales, service, and operational practices across Tru
  • Accelerate sales performance through leadership, coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning, talent development, and mentoring
  • Translate enterprise goals into measurable results while advancing growth, member value, community impact, and organizational performance
  • Contribute to enterprise strategy, governance, and organizational performance as a member of the Tru Leadership Team
  • Shape long-term business priorities, operating models, and growth strategies
  • Collaborate with executive leaders and the Board on strategic objectives, organizational capability, governance, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Monitor industry, competitive, and market trends and lead strategic responses
  • Lead enterprise sales and advisory strategy to drive sustainable growth, market penetration, member relationships, and measurable member value
  • Establish consistent sales culture, operating model, and standards across regions
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, performance measures, and resource priorities
  • Oversee distribution and branch network strategies
  • Ensure member-serving businesses operate within risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies
  • Maintain controls, governance practices, and operational disciplines supporting prudent growth and compliance
  • Account for financial performance of regional brands and Wealth Management
  • Establish budgets, allocate resources, monitor performance, manage variances, and drive accountability
  • Engage with communities served by Tru and provide local-market knowledge and leadership
  • Strengthen Tru’s presence as a cooperative financial institution and help members achieve financial goals

Requirements

  • Seasoned sales executive in financial services
  • 10 years’ progressive leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience
  • Additional accreditation such as an MBA or postgraduate studies in sales and marketing is an asset
  • Financial planning designation is an asset
  • Ability to lead enterprise sales and advisory strategy across brands and lines of business
  • Ability to operate within risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies
  • Experience with budgets, resource allocation, financial performance, and operational efficiency
  • Ability to engage communities and provide local-market knowledge
