About the role

  • Retirement actuarial intern supporting WTW’s pension consulting and employee retirement solutions. Performing pension valuations, asset/liability modelling, data analysis, and plan administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical actuarial and consulting support on retirement projects
  • Design, fund, price, implement, and manage retirement programs
  • Perform competitive benchmarking analysis of benefit plan designs
  • Develop professional expertise and technical knowledge in retirement plans
  • Work with associates at all levels within the local practice
  • Perform asset/liability modelling
  • Perform actuarial pension valuations for a variety of clients
  • Manipulate and analyze data
  • Determine plan liabilities and funding requirements
  • Reconcile plan assets
  • Assist with plan reporting and filing requirements
  • Complete benefit calculations
  • Review plan documents
  • Produce benefit statements
  • Participate in real client assignments and meetings

Requirements

  • Progress towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or another major with significant quantitative course work
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Progress towards ASA or ACIA designation through the SOA or CIA
  • Work experience demonstrating strong technical and/or client service skills
  • Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed client standards
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a close team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
