About the role
- Experienced Mainframe Developer needed for contract role in Toronto (Hybrid). Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS, DB2, and SAS for banking/insurance systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS, DB2, and SAS. Build and enhance batch and online processing systems for banking and insurance applications. Develop ETL pipelines and data transformation processes (SAS, DB2, AbInitio, UNIX). Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Support production/QA teams and resolve issues efficiently. Participate in migration, integration, and large-scale data projects. Lead testing activities including integration and UAT support.
Requirements
- Strong experience with COBOL, IMS, DB2, and SAS. Hands-on experience in mainframe application development and support. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Experience working in Agile environments. Nice to Have: AbInitio, UNIX, Git/Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, IntelliJ / Eclipse.
