About the role

  • AI Engineer building LLM-powered and agentic features for Toronto’s home-management platform. Shipping intelligent maintenance, matching, document, and conversational experiences through Python and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship LLM-powered and agentic features across the Quartermaster product
  • Develop intelligence for maintenance guidance, contractor matching, document understanding, conversational experiences, and similar user-facing capabilities
  • Integrate LLM APIs and agentic frameworks into the Python/TypeScript SaaS stack
  • Own features from API design and prompt/agent design through testing, deployment, and production monitoring
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to scope future work
  • Apply testing, code review, and incremental delivery practices to LLM-based features
  • Evaluate and regression-test prompt and agent behavior
  • Help establish internal patterns and conventions for building and maintaining LLM/agentic features

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompting, API integration, and/or agentic workflows
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in Python
  • Background in SaaS web development, building and shipping features in a production web application
  • Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain, PydanticAI, LangGraph, or equivalent
  • Experience deploying and operating production services in a cloud environment
  • Awareness of LLM API cost, latency, and rate-limit tradeoffs when designing production features
  • Comfort working across the stack, from backend APIs to the LLM/agent layer
  • Product-engineering mindset focused on shipping features for real users
  • Experience with a Python async web framework such as FastAPI or similar is preferred
  • Experience with a document database such as MongoDB or similar is preferred
  • Experience with TypeScript is preferred
  • Experience with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools is preferred
  • Experience with vector search/retrieval pipelines is preferred
  • Prior experience in a small-team or early-stage SaaS environment, owning features end-to-end is preferred
  • Willingness to work in person on a set Monday, Thursday and every second Tuesday schedule
