About the role

  • Kelly Services seeks a Shop Manager for a direct hire perm role in Mississauga, ON, overseeing daily shop, yard, and fleet operations for a green energy supplier.

Responsibilities

  • As Shop Manager you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of our shop, storage yard, fleet and other property and equipment. The primary responsibility of the Shop Manager is to provide operational and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the company’s equipment and vehicles. The Shop Manager is accountable to ensure all fleet processes are completed in a timely manner with records maintained accordingly. Responsibilities: Source and secure parts, materials & equipment required to ensure continuous operations of all Company vehicles and equipment. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the fleet, including dispatching drivers and scheduling routes. Monitor, schedule and ensure preventive maintenance of all Company vehicles and equipment. Maintain a detailed inventory of all spare part and material available at the shop or stored for future use. Maintain the cleanliness of the shop – both interior and exterior, storage yards, fleet and other equipment. Schedule fleet vehicles for preventative maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Maintain shop organization, inventory, and yard Coordinate mobilization/demobilization of job sites Support movement of equipment (drill rigs, materials, rentals) Assist mechanic with sourcing parts and maintenance coordination Track fleet (secondary focus; not logistics-heavy) Deliver and pick up materials from job sites.

Requirements

  • G Driver’s license is a MUST. Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises. On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risk that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions. Work environment requires having construction safety footwear. This role will be based in Mississauga working at our location, with some flexibility for remote work. Construction background (critical). Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. Comfortable with hands-on work (lifting, loading, equipment handling). Nice-to-Have: Forklift license. Experience in shop, yard, or light industrial environment.
