About the role
- Principal Data Engineer with 10+ years experience to lead AWS cloud-native data platform design and enterprise data strategy. Hybrid role in Toronto with 2 days onsite.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data architecture & pipeline design (batch + streaming). Drive innovation using emerging AWS services. Establish best practices, standards & frameworks. Mentor engineers and contribute to enterprise data strategy.
Requirements
- AWS Data Stack – S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR. Serverless & Orchestration – Lambda, Step Functions. Streaming – Kinesis / MSK. Python / Scala / Java (strong programming skills). ETL / ELT Pipelines & Orchestration (Airflow or AWS-native tools). Data Modeling, Distributed Systems & Performance Tuning. CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation). Data Quality, Monitoring & Cost Optimization. Architecture, Design Patterns & Technical Leadership.
