Seeking a seasoned Scrum Master with FinTech experience to support Agile delivery of Fraud application enhancements for a top financial client.
Responsibilities
Serve as Scrum Master for one or more squads, facilitating all Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Remove impediments, protect teams from external distractions, and foster a high-trust, high-velocity delivery culture. Maintain accountability for bi-weekly releases and continuous improvement initiatives, advocating feature toggling, trunk-based development, and incremental delivery. Lead the execution of Agile initiatives, assessing and adapting practices to ensure quality and timely delivery. Act as a trusted delivery advisor to product owners and stakeholders, operating effectively at group or enterprise levels. Monitor team performance with Agile metrics such as velocity and burndown charts. Adhere to BMO’s Agile Standards and Practices, integrating PMLC and SDLC activities for project management and operational readiness. Identify and manage delivery risks, issues, change requests, and status reports via project logs like Clarity. Manage Jira for backlog management, sprint planning, dependency tracking, and delivery progress. Maintain accurate financials and support vendor engagement and cross-team coordination. Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement and prioritization to align outcomes with business goals. Prepare and deliver presentations to management, communicating status, risks, and insights. Drive Agile adoption through workshops, training, and challenging existing processes to foster modern ways of working.
Requirements
Agile Certification (required): CSM®, PSM® or equivalent. PMP® an asset. 7+ years in delivery roles, including 5+ years as a Scrum Master in complex digital environments, particularly FinTech and Fraud domains. Deep familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), and knowledge of PMLC and SDLC. Expert proficiency in Jira, Confluence; working knowledge of CI/CD practices. Proven track record leading large, cross-functional teams to successful scope, schedule, budget, and quality outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical skills, and influence capabilities. Ability to manage ambiguity and operate effectively under pressure. Nice to Have: FinTech domain experience.
