About the role
- Senior Data Science Developer to modernize data platforms and migrate Azure pipelines to Databricks Lakehouse. Hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-based data & analytics solutions in Azure. Build and maintain modern Lakehouse architectures (medallion model). Develop automated data pipelines using Azure Data Factory & Databricks. Migrate legacy workloads from Azure Synapse to Databricks (Delta Lake). Create reusable frameworks to streamline pipeline development. Conduct peer code reviews and support CI/CD best practices. Collaborate with IT and business teams in an Agile environment.
Requirements
- Must-Haves: 5+ years in Microsoft Azure environments, 5+ years building data pipelines with ADF & Databricks, 5+ years programming in Python & SQL, Experience designing data lakes / Lakehouse architectures, Strong problem-solving skills in complex environments. Nice to Have: Databricks Unity Catalog, Power BI integration, Experience modernizing legacy Synapse environments, Strong documentation & stakeholder communication skills.
